Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) was established in 1966 and has since grown to become one of the leading medical institutions in Northern India. Located in the picturesque city of Shimla, the college is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Admissions Process

Admissions to all medical courses at IGMC are conducted through national/state level entrance examinations as per Government of India and Himachal Pradesh University guidelines.

Step 1: Eligibility Check

For MBBS: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved categories). Minimum age 17 years.

Step 2: Entrance Exam

Appear for NEET-UG for MBBS, NEET-PG for MD/MS. For nursing programs, HPU entrance test is applicable.

Step 3: Counseling Registration

Register online through Himachal Pradesh Medical Counseling Board website after exam results.

Step 4: Document Verification

Submit original documents for verification at designated centers. Required documents include mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, and identity proof.

Step 5: Seat Allotment & Admission

Seat allotment based on merit and preference. Complete admission formalities and fee payment at college.
